Football polls’ top five unchanged

Wartburg (9-0) is No. 5 in the d3football.com and AFCA coaches polls for the second straight week heading into Saturday’s regular season finale vs. Loras (3-6) at 1 p.m.

Wis.-Whitewater (9-0), Mary Hardin-Baylor (9-0), Mount Union (9-0) and Wesley (9-0) remained Nos. 1-4.

John Carroll (9-0) is No. 6, while Johns Hopkins (9-0) jumped above Hobart (9-0) to No. 7 in both polls. Wheaton (Ill.) (9-0) is No. 9. Linfield (7-1) rounds out the d3football top 10, while Widener (9-0) is the coaches No. 10.

Central (7-2) is now receiving four votes in the coaches poll. Wartburg wrapped up the IIAC’s automatic playoff bid with a 41-10 win at Simpson on Saturday.

Along with No. 1 Wis.-Whitewater and No. 5 Wartburg in the West Region, Linfield (7-1) is No. 10 and 12, St. John’s (8-1) is No. 13 and 14 after a huge 31-8 win over then-No. 10/12 Bethel, Wis.-Platteville (7-2) is No. 15 and 16, Bethel (7-2) is No. 18 and 21, Chapman (7-1) is No. 20 and 23 and St. Thomas (7-2) is No. 22. Concordia-Moorehad (8-2), Wis.-Stevens Point (6-3), Carroll (8-1), St. Scholastica (10-0), Pacific (6-2), Wis.-Oshkosh (5-4), Pacific Lutheran (6-2), Central (7-2) and Macalester (8-1) are receiving various votes.
