On the Line: Wartburg has beaten its so-called rival 22 of the last 23 years, so the Norse would obviously love nothing more than to snap an eight-game losing streak to the Knights and ruin their perfect season. Wartburg is through the expected gauntlet of an IIAC opening three games unblemished, now it hopes to avoid a slip-up in the second part of the conference campaign.

Last Year: Taylor Jacobsmeier’s 17-yard touchdown pass to running back Brandon Domeyer with 5:53 remaining lifted Wartburg to a 24-21 victory in Decorah. It was the fifth straight meeting in which the Knights scored exactly 24 points.

Last Week: Domeyer ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns and sixth-ranked Wartburg scored 22 unanswered second half points to pull away for a 42-9 Homecoming victory over Dubuque. Luther and Buena Vista racked up a combined 1,073 yards as the Norse dropped their second straight game after a 4-0 start, 48-41.

The Series: Wartburg leads, 36-22

Impact Players

Brandon Domeyer is averaging 103 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in Iowa Conference play. Robbie Anstoetter has 12 catches for 202 yards and five scores against IIAC opposition. Wartburg’s rush defense ranks first in the IIAC and linebacker Gunner Tranel (36 total tackles, 17 solo in IIAC games) and company will have the task of shutting down Luther’s triple option attack Saturday. The Norse lead the league in rushing at 384.8 yards per game.

Luther could use a game-changing defensive play or two if they hope to pull an upset Saturday.
