Wartburg clinched the Iowa Conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs in the day’s only blowout.

The other three games Saturday were decided by a combined 11 points.

STORM LAKE, Iowa — Josh Osborn’s one-yard touchdown run with 3:49 left gave Central the go-ahead score in a battle for second place. Osborn carried the ball 27 times for 173 yards (6.4 average) and two touchdowns. Bobby Brown was picked off on 4th-and-5 at the Central 25 on the ensuing drive by Jacob Edleman, who had two of the Dutch’s three interceptions. Central led 21-0 in the second quarter before BV rallied to take a 25-24 lead with 7:45 to play.

DUBUQUE, Iowa — Josh Rekers’ pass on a two-point conversion with 1:03 remaining fell incomplete and Dubuque recovered the ensuing onside kick to hang on. The Spartans never trailed in the second half, taking the lead on DaiVon Vance-Jenkins’ four-yard run early in the third quarter. A Dylan Ramsey safety on Coe’s next drive also provided the final margin. Coe outgained UD, 415-343.
