Wartburg College hosted it’s third year of the “Real Men Sing” Choir Festival on Saturday, Oct. 6 in Neumann Auditorium.
Ensemble performances included Wartburg’s Ritterchor directed by Dr. Lee Nelson, the Iowa City West High School Men’s Choir and a professional adult men’s choir named the Great Northern Union.
The concert consisted of over 600 males singers of various ages as young as 12 years old to come together and perform for the public. The men performed various musical pieces of various genres ranging from sacred music to contemporary pieces that evening.
Third-year Ritterchor member, Justin Cervantes said he hopes all the men involved will continue to to sing no matter where their lives lead them.
“I just hope that they realize that singing is fun and that they should not be afraid of it and they should be involved,” Cervantes said. “Whether or not they’ll professional singers isn’t the problem.”
