Wartburg remains No. 6 in football polls

The top 12 teams in both the d3football.com and AFCA coaches polls remained the same this week, including Wartburg (6-0) holding steady at No. 6 after a 42-9 homecoming win over Dubuque.

Wis.-Whitewater (6-0), Mary Hardin-Baylor (6-0), Mount Union (6-0), Wesley (7-0) and Linfield (5-0) continue to make up the top five in both sets of rankings.

John Carroll (6-0), Hobart (6-0), Johns Hopkins (6-0) and Wabash (6-0) round out the top 10.

Along with No. 1 Wis.-Whitewater, No. 5 Linfield and No. 6 Wartburg in the West Region, Bethel (5-1) is No. 11 and 15, Wis.-Platteville (5-1) is No. 13 and 14, Wis.-Stevens Point (5-1) is No. 19 and 22, Concordia-Moorhead (6-1) is No. 20 and 23, St. John’s (5-1) is No. 21 and 24, St. Thomas (5-1) is No. 22 and 19 and Chapman (4-1) is No. 25 in the d3football.com version.

Willamette (4-1), Gustavus Adolphus (6-1), Carroll (6-0), Pacific Lutheran (3-2) and Wis.-Oshkosh (3-3) are also receiving votes in some form.

Wartburg puts its ranking to the test again Saturday against Luther (4-2) at Walston-Hoover Stadium.
