Ziggy’s Domino’s Pizza delivered their pizzas in an unusual way last week.

The pizza place delivered their pizzas accompanied by a fire truck in honor of Fire Prevention Week.  The fundraiser was held to bring awareness to the importance of having properly working smoke detectors. Fire fighters checked residents’ houses and if all their smoke detectors were working correctly, they received their order for free. Ten percent of the proceeds from the nights went to each of the town’s fire departments.

Wiechmann said his favorite part of the event was seeing the reactions of the people they delivered to.
“I delivered to a house Denver on Monday and the little kid was peeking out the window looking and waiting for the fire truck to show up. So that’s pretty cool,” said Wiechmann.
The fundraiser took place in Janesville and Denver on Monday night and in Waverly on Wednesday. This was the first year Ziggy’s has held the fundraiser, but owner John Wiechmann said they have wanted to in past years.
